Hi, I'm GILLIAN SODER
I didn't learn about anatomy from diagrams.

I learned it through thousands of human dissections while working in forensic medicine... seeing, touching, and studying the real structures that hold us together. Witnessing real variations. The stuff that doesn't show up neatly in yoga manuals.

That experience permanantly changed how I understand the human body, and eventually how I now teach movement.

I've spent two decades studying yoga and the human form through university education, forensic work, and ongoing movement exploration. Over time, one thing has become painfully clear: most movement professionals are given just enough anatomy to sound informed but not enough to feel confident applying it.

That gap is why I created Body Labs.

I work with yoga teachers, movement facilitators, bodyworkers, and organizations who want:
-
anatomy that changes how they teach
-
movement education that respects individual variation
-
and a deeper trust in the intelligence of the body itself

My work is grounded in science, shaped by direct experience with the human form, and delivered in a way that accessible, curious, and human.

You're in the right place.

"Gillian's knowledge base means she is cueing a release before you even notice you have tensed up. I leave her classes feeling more limber and stronger within my body. If you have the opportunity - don't miss any of her offerings."

"Gillian pairs a pose with the part of your body it targets. This has been sh helpful for me as I start to learn what I neeed for myself. If I have an ache I can hear Gillian's coice in my head telling me which pose might help relieve those achy muscles. She is gentle and funny. I miss her studio sessions but have LOVED doing her online classes. She is a gift."
